After growing up showing dairy cattle in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Sue’s entire professional career has involved equine research, teaching, and clinical service at the University of Pennsylvania Vet School’s New Bolton Center. Her training includes human and animal psychology, ethology, learning science and behavioral neuroendocrinology, with her PhD specifically in equine learning with a focus on sexual behavior dysfunction in stallions. She has held CAAB certification since 1991. Her passion related to this group is promotion of the application of the scientific knowledge of learning and ethology to improve safety and welfare of horses and handlers. Her current equine hobby involves training and driving ponies, just for family fun.
