Petra Collyer is the owner of Fox Trails Farm near Pittsburgh, where she provides consultation in equine behavior, health and management (www.foxtrailsequine.com). Petra has a DVM from the Free University in Berlin, Germany, and a PhD (equine medicine) from the University of Berne, Switzerland. Petra has worked as a veterinarian in Scotland, France and Switzerland, and came to the US for a residency in large animal internal medicine in 2004. Since then, Petra worked mostly at universities in Kentucky and Texas, until an opportunity arose in 2016 to buy Fox Trails Farm. Currently, her services specialize in training young horses and directing horse behavior according to learning theory principles, with an emphasis on communicating each rationale to her clients. Privately, Petra is enjoying family, farm and foxhunting in a beautiful part of Pennsylvania.
