Dr. Katherine Albro Houpt treats horses, dogs, and cats with behavior problems with the help of her residents. In addition to being a veterinarian, Dr. Houpt holds a doctoral degree in behavioral biology, is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists and is a Professor Emeritus at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to being recognized as a leading authority on equine and companion animal behavior, she is the author of the textbook, Domestic Animal Behavior, now in its 6th edition as well as numerous scientific articles, and is a contributor to Equus and Horse & Rider magazine. When not involved in treating behavior cases, she enjoys riding her Arabian mare or driving her Swedish Gotland pony around Ithaca, NY.
