Antonia Henderson (Toni) works as a psychology professor at Vancouver’s Langara College, and also as a research psychologist – teaching, consulting, and writing about the psychology of human/animal relationships and particularly our relationship with horses. She has designed and taught a number of university courses in Human Animal Studies also created and delivered a number of equine courses such as: The psychology of equine behaviour, Equine sports psychology, and The psychology of equine training. Since 2011 she has been a regular contributor to Horse Sport and Horse Canada writing about the science and psychology of equine behaviour with the goal of improving psychological wellbeing for sport horses. Toni has a strong practical background in the equine industry. She worked at a number of hunter/jumper facilities in Southwestern Ontario many years ago, grooming, teaching, riding, and managing. She has owned, bred, imported, and successfully competed her own horses in the hunter/jumper, and dressage, disciplines. She currently competes her own 5 year-old Hanoverian dressage horse, “Farah”.
